Team and single sign-on

Manage your team on Ciele Cloud and connect organization single sign-on with onboarding handled for you.

Managing your team — inviting members and setting their roles — works the same on Ciele Cloud as it does anywhere else. That shared behavior is covered in Members and roles. This page covers the part that is specific to the managed edition: organization single sign-on.

Two kinds of single sign-on

Do not confuse the two. Assistant sign-in (in Authentication) is about your visitors signing in to a chat widget, and is part of the open-source core. Organization single sign-on, on this page, is about your administrators and team signing in to the Ciele console with your company identity provider, and is a managed Cloud capability.

Console single sign-on

On Ciele Cloud, your organization can require members to sign in to the admin console through your own identity provider, so access follows your existing joiner and leaver process instead of separate Ciele passwords.

Because every identity provider is configured a little differently, Cloud SSO onboarding is set up together with the Ciele team rather than fully self-service. Reach out through Support to start, and have ready:

  • The identity provider you use (for example a major enterprise directory).
  • The domains your members sign in with.
  • A contact on your side who can approve the connection in your identity provider.

After single sign-on is connected

  • New members who belong to your directory can sign in without a separate invite.
  • Removing someone in your directory removes their console access.
  • Roles inside Ciele still control what each member can do; see Members and roles.
