Long-term memory
Remember durable facts for signed-in Visitors and erase them when required.
Long-term memory carries durable facts into later Conversations. It works only for Visitors signed in through the Widget's SSO gate.
The feature is off by default. Anonymous Visitors never produce or recall long-term memories.
Enable long-term memory
- Open Settings.
- Select AI Providers.
- Find Long-term memory.
- Enable Remember signed-in users across conversations.
The Organization needs a working provider connection. Memory extraction uses the classifier-tier model and counts against the daily AI budget.
What Ciele remembers
Ciele promotes explicit facts that can remain useful after the current Conversation. Examples include a contact preference or a standing instruction.
The extractor avoids one-time requests, questions, guesses, and statements made only by the Assistant. Many Conversations produce no durable facts.
Each stored memory keeps provenance to its source Conversation. Exact duplicate facts are removed during storage.
One signed-in Visitor can hold up to 200 memories. New writes remove the oldest facts after that limit.
Promotion and recall
A promotion job waits until the Conversation stays quiet for 15 minutes. A newer message supersedes an older pending job.
Before it stores anything the job checks four things: the Organization toggle, the SSO subject, an available model, and the budget. Any one of them can stop the promotion.
Only the first turn of a later Conversation receives memories this way. After that the runtime reaches them through the searchMemories tool.
Recall never crosses an Organization or SSO subject boundary.
Let a Visitor inspect and delete memories
A signed-in Visitor can open the Widget history panel. The Memory folder appears when long-term memory is enabled.
The folder lists remembered facts for that Visitor. Select the delete control beside a fact to forget it.
Deletion removes the fact from future prompt recall and memory searches.
Handle an erasure request
- Open Settings.
- Select AI Providers.
- Find Remembered users.
- Search by user ID or identity claim.
- Review the stored facts.
- Delete one memory or select Delete all memories for this user.
A full wipe is immediate. Organization members can manage memories only inside their Organization.
Disabling and deleting are different
Disabling long-term memory stops extraction and recall. Use Remembered users when stored facts must also be erased.
