Usage and limits
How Ciele Cloud meters monthly usage against your plan's allowance and what happens when you reach the cap.
Ciele Cloud only
Usage metering and enforced limits are part of the managed edition. A self-hosted open-source deployment has no usage caps — its capacity is bounded only by the infrastructure and AI provider keys you configure.
Every Ciele Cloud plan includes a monthly usage allowance. Ciele meters your organization's usage as conversations happen and compares it against your plan's allowance, so there are no surprises and no manual counting.
What counts as usage
Usage is measured by the AI work your assistants do on behalf of your visitors — principally the answers assistants generate. The console shows your current usage for the billing period so you always know where you stand.
Watching your usage
You can see usage for the current period in the console at any time. Watch it if you are running a campaign, launching a new assistant, or otherwise expecting a spike, so you can move to a larger plan before you run out of allowance.
Reaching the cap
As your usage nears the plan allowance, Ciele surfaces it in the console. When the allowance is reached, the plan's cap applies for the rest of the billing period. Upgrading to a plan with a larger allowance restores capacity immediately; the allowance otherwise resets at the start of the next billing period.
Keeping usage efficient
The same practices that make answers better also keep usage efficient: focused knowledge so retrieval stays on target, flows that handle common questions directly, and help desks that hand off cleanly when a human is the right next step.
